Seebode

Actress | Singer | Dancer

Reviews

“Seebode is a really good Tracy, infusing the character with a winning stage presence, singing beautifully on such poppy numbers as "Good Morning Baltimore" and "I Can Hear the Bells," and busting some impressive dance moves.”

- John Stanton, Wilmington StarNews

“Tracy Turnblad, played by Gabriella Seebode with pizzazz and sparkle. Her character is but one of those portraying what is now termed “otherness.” Other such aspects in the piece are sexual orientation, class, and, most centrally, race… It started auspiciously with one of its signature numbers, “Good Morning Baltimore.” Seebode sang this with spirit and projection, launching the evening into high gear right from the start.

Getting to Know You…

Gabriella is a rising senior B.F.A. Musical Theatre Major at Coastal Carolina University.
This year she made her Main Stage debut at CCU as female ensemble as well as covering roles such as Marty and Miss Lynch. She is also involved in the departments dance company fostering student choreographers and dancers. This semester she presented her piece “Tightrope” exploring the similarities of polar opposite feelings, based off of a poem by English department student Sydney Wong titled “Love and Sorrow”

Outside of rehearsals and performances, Gabriella enjoys soaking up the South Carolina sunshine, often near the water, embracing her northern-transplant-turned-mermaid lifestyle. When indoors (thanks to her mosquito-attracting superpowers), she can be found watching movies and documentaries, reading, or indulging in her “old-soul” hobbies like cross-stitching.
